LETTER TO AUTHOR SELF
Hey guys. This is blog post number 3 and I’m starting to get more comfortable writing. We were assigned a reading called “A Fable For Living“ by Kevin Brockmeier. It was about a woman who wrote letters to her dead husband, that's how the living and the dead communicate in the story. She started to question if he was there and when he answers back her entire way of thinking changed. She thought to herself if the earth can bring letters to the dead could it bring people. She eventually delivered herself to the dead. Great story you should read sometime. Dear Zyaire, Thank you for being the realist person on my team. You’re always by my side when nobody else is and that's why I always put you first. Even when I thought about giving up you never let me. Zyaire, you’re the energizer battery to my back because we just keep going. I could’ve gave up plenty of times throughout my life. Like when my sister died in 2016, or when both my grandfathers within the same week. Most people I know can’t handle that type of pressure but you did and I’m proud of you. Even though you’ve accomplished a lot, I know you could’ve did way more. That’s your fault, you held yourself back just a little. Being stuck in your ways during high school didn’t really get you to where you wanted and you know that. With your 20th birthday coming up, I know you can’t wait to buy your first property and I’ll be with you along the way. You have to WORK though and not procrastinate like you always do. Yes you always get the job done but at what cost? Sometimes you’d only get an hour of sleep because you decided to do something at the last minute. That has to stop right now because your hurting yourself physically and mentally. My 3 step plan to interact with you throughout the semester is to not brush off things until the last minute. Communicate more with strangers and write more often. Sincerely, ZY.
