How’s it going gang? This is what blog post #5. In class we read 2 short stories Hills Like White Elephants (Ernest Hemingway) and My Name is Margaret (Maya Angelou). My story relates to both of these texts because of the emotions that flow throughout. Before you read the scene I wanted to give you some insight on this true story. My friend was murdered right after he got me over my fear of swimming. He’s one of the people that strives to be a better person everyday. “YO ZY!” my cousin zay screamed in shock. “YO BRO WHY YOU YELLING I'M RIGHT NEXT TO YOU” I had exclaimed. “I saw it on insta..” as he tried to get the words out my friend yelled up the porch steps “YOOOO, WHY A FAKE INSTAGRAM JUST POST THAT TB JUST DIED?” my friend ski said as he burst through the old wooden door of his grandmother’s house. “Who told you that bro?” I said worriedly. “People keep posting it on instagram bro” he had said while showing the phone “Before we start jumping to conclusions did anybody call him?” I said while scrolling through my contact list on my phone. I facetimed him but all it did was ring. “Did anybody call his mom?” I had said while glaring around the room at my friends alerted faces. Zay said “I called her but she didn't answer”, he said “she’s probably sleep”. After all, it was like 11:00am on a saturday. “Check to see when was the last time he was on the game” I said. He loved the game so much so he would have been unusual if he was off for more than 12 hours. “Bro he wasn’t on all day” ski said in disbelief. Our other friend five, who is also TB’s cousin, walks in the room. Zay asks him “You heard the news bro? Tell me it ain't true”. “What are you talking about bro?” five says in an unsure voice. He’s totally clueless. “Somebody said TB died and we are just trying to find him” I had told him. Five immediately pulled out his phone and called one of his cousins. Before five got out a question we could hear his cousin say “hold up bro ima call you back TB got shot” Beep beep beep, the phone went as he hung up. The room went quiet as it felt like the reaper called and told us he took our friends soul. I left my friend's house and went home. As I went upstairs I could hear my game still on from this morning. I went to TB’s account, rubbed my system, turned it off and went to sleep.

LETTER TO AUTHOR SELF
Hey guys. This is blog post number 3 and I’m starting to get more comfortable writing. We were assigned a reading called “A Fable For Living“ by Kevin Brockmeier. It was about a woman who wrote letters to her dead husband, that's how the living and the dead communicate in the story. She started to question if he was there and when he answers back her entire way of thinking changed. She thought to herself if the earth can bring letters to the dead could it bring people. She eventually delivered herself to the dead. Great story you should read sometime. Dear Zyaire, Thank you for being the realist person on my team. You’re always by my side when nobody else is and that's why I always put you first. Even when I thought about giving up you never let me. Zyaire, you’re the energizer battery to my back because we just keep going. I could’ve gave up plenty of times throughout my life. Like when my sister died in 2016, or when both my grandfathers within the same week. Most people I know can’t handle that type of pressure but you did and I’m proud of you. Even though you’ve accomplished a lot, I know you could’ve did way more. That’s your fault, you held yourself back just a little. Being stuck in your ways during high school didn’t really get you to where you wanted and you know that. With your 20th birthday coming up, I know you can’t wait to buy your first property and I’ll be with you along the way. You have to WORK though and not procrastinate like you always do. Yes you always get the job done but at what cost? Sometimes you’d only get an hour of sleep because you decided to do something at the last minute. That has to stop right now because your hurting yourself physically and mentally. My 3 step plan to interact with you throughout the semester is to not brush off things until the last minute. Communicate more with strangers and write more often. Sincerely, ZY. As a website author who will create your own web page content in this course, how would you rank the importance of the five modes on a scale of 1-5? Please provide a brief rationale to support each mode ranking. 1.Visual, images and characters that people see. Deserves to be #1 because mostly everything in the world relies on your sight. It connects you to the environment you’re surrounded by. It also gives us that extra sense of awareness. 2.Aural, focused on sound. Seeing and hearing is neck and neck but this came in 2nd only because you can do more with your sight. Hearing and speaking just helps us communicate more than sight. Hearing maybe your most important survival key. 3.Gestural, how movement is interpreted. Gestures are important because it shows people how your feeling at that moment. This is the 2nd best way of communication, gestures include sign language also. 4.Spatial, arrangements of elements. It’s just a visual way of thinking. 5.Linguistic, word choice or delivery.
